Brian Steckler
Founder, Outta The Woods
Brian Steckler, founder of Outta The Woods, brings over 45 years of woodworking expertise to his craft. Born in Seattle and now living in Carmel Valley, California, Brian’s passion for woodworking began in high school and grew over decades, blending his creative talent with a diverse career. After retiring from a 20-year service in the U.S. Navy, Brian transitioned into roles as an IT executive, teacher, and researcher, while continuing to pursue his love for woodworking.
Today, Brian specializes in crafting live-edge furniture, epoxy resin creations, and unique decor pieces, all from locally sourced, sustainable materials. His Carmel Valley workshop is a hub of creativity, equipped with advanced tools to bring his designs to life. Beyond his craft, Brian actively gives back to the community by fundraising and organizing events for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, a nonprofit dedicated to helping disabled veterans heal through nature and camaraderie.
Through his work, Brian combines artistry, sustainability, and a commitment to excellence, creating timeless pieces that honor the beauty of wood and the stories it tells.
